Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of grossular garnet from this seldom referenced California locality!!! This is a fantastic specimen for the locality!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of highly complex crystals of grossular garnet in association with a couple scattered crystals of light green epidote!!! The crystals have bright, glassy luster and gemmy clarity with deep reddish orange color!!! The crystals have highly complex faces with curiously etched forms and modified faces!!! These crystals are in magnificent condition with no significant damage to speak of!!! The crystals' highly complex nature and detailed faces were quite difficult to capture in the pictures - this specimen is simply gorgeous in person!!! The crystals range in size to over 2cm!!! This specimen retains an old label and affixed catalogue number as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
