Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely extraordinary example of this very rare species from the type locality!!! This specimen is comprised almost entirely of
intergrown crystals of guanajuatite!!! This rare species is usually only encountered as small masses or grains, with crystals being quite rare, however
this specimen hosts sharply defined crystals to an incredible 6mm!!! The crystals are much more prominent in person as well!!! This specimen is
from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and retains its original label and affixed catalogue number as well (museum label appears to note on the reverse that the specimen was confirmed at some point)!!! Although the locality is only
given as Guanajuato, it is likely from the Santa Catarina Mine!!! A truly exceptional example of this rare species!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 24th!!!
