Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific, old time assemblage of species from this classic locality!!! This specimen came from the collection of Albert Peppis, who collected with the
Schortmann brothers (of Schortmann's fame) at the Ruggles Mine - which is where the Schortmann borthers got their start - during the late 1930's and early 1940's!!! This specimen
is a fantastic assemblage of species from Ruggles - consisting of a greenish matrix of massive apatite that hosts a rich showing of jet-black uraninite and a colorful mixture
of uranium secondaries collectively known as gummite, in addition to muscovite and unusually sharp crystals of dark brown zircon!!! There is a lot
going on with this specimen and there is a lot more to see upon close examination!!! This specimen is quite rich with black uraninite!!! The pics don't even come
close to doing it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
