Smoky Quartz "Gwindel" Göschenen Valley, Uri, Switzerland 8.9cm x 7.1cm x 3.3cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of this classic and sought-after quartz habit from Switzerland!!! I have to start off by saying that I had great difficulty capturing this specimen with the camera, and these are unusually poor pictures - this specimen is WAY, WAY, better than these pictures show!!! This specimen was acquired in an old collection and consists of a highly complex smoky quartz "gwindel" crystal!!! The crystal has glassy luster, deep smoky color, and nearly flawless gem clarity!!! The crystal is completely terminated on both ends and shows clear rotation on the c-axis!!! There is some minor damage to a small area on the bottom edge of the crystal - perhaps where it had been attached to some matrix, but aside from this The crystal is in magnificent condition!!!
