Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare example of harmotome from Connecticut!!! This specimen hosts scattered crystals of harmotome in association with numerous brassy golden
crystals of pyrite!!! The harmotome crystals are sharp, glassy, and exhibit characteristic twinning upon close inpsection!!! The
pyrite crystals have a handsome brassy patina and exhibit razor-sharp, complexly modified cubic forms!!! There are also
numerous complex pagoda-like groups of calcite crystals present as well!!! Upon close inspection one can find
some small stilbite crystals as well as other related species in minor association!!!
This specimen retains an old label from the collection of Irenee du Pont, Sr. (1876-1963) and retains an affixed catalogue number from the University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum as well!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
