Hausmannite with Andradite Garnet N'Chwaning II Mine, N'Chwaning Mines, Kuruman, Kalahari manganese fields, Northern Cape Province, South Africa 3.4cm x 2.55cm x 1.7cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic combination of hausmannite and andradite garnet from South Africa!!! This specimen consists of an aesthetic pairing of complex, jet-black crystals of hausmannite paired with dark red crystals of andradite garnet and accented by unidentified whitish crystals and a curious cluster of unidentified colorless crystals!!! The hausmannite crystals are in fantastic condition and exhibit characteristic form - consisting of complex, octahedral crystals with networks of tiny, highly lustrous faces!!! The andradite garnet crystals have sharp faces and rich red color!!! The whitish crystals have complex features but are much more euhedral upon close inspection!!! The colorless crystal is quite intruiging - as it has brilliant glassy luster and highly complex features with razor-sharp detail!!! The crystal almost appears twinned as well - and it fluoresces red-orange under SW UV!!! A very handsome specimen indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
