These unique specimens from this seldom referenced French locality are literally such extraordinary examples of hematite that they almost look like an altogether different species!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of intergrown crystals of hematite in association with a small amount of matrix!!! The hematite crystals are present as thick - almost blocky, hexagonal crystals!!! The crystals have razor-sharp form and handsome gray-metallic luster!!! This specimen is complete and undamaged!!!
