Hematite with Quartz Big Bertha Mine (Veta Grande claim at Quartzsite), Middle Camp-Oro Fino District, Dome Rock Mts, La Paz Co., Arizona 3.04cm x 2.2cm x 2.06cm

Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely extraordinary example of hematite from Arizona!!! I have to start by saying that this specimen is unquestionably competition-worthy!!! It is absolutley flawless and has wonderful aesthetics that hardly come across in these photos!!! This specimen consists of a massive quartzite matrix that hosts a striking group of hematite crystals accented by tiny quartz points!!! The main hematite crystals even appear to be twinned!!! The hematite crystals are thick, with razor sharp faces and mirror-bright luster (you can literally see yourself in them!)!!! There is a third, smaller hematite crystal that serves to bounce light back up at the main crystals - making it a very lively specimen no matter the angle light is hitting it!!!
