Description/Interesting Notes: A unique example of quartz from Herkimer!!! This specimen consists of a complex quartz crystal, heavily included with darkly colored inclusions of pyrobitumen that serves as a matrix for a razor-sharp "herkimer diamond" quartz crystal!!! The darkly colored pyrobitumen-included quartz crystal section is incomplete but shows a significant degree of crystallization all around, with discernable terminations on both ends!!! The darkly colored crystal provides an aesthetic contrast for the pristine, bright white herkimer diamond crystal prominently perched on top!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
