Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare example of hessite and native gold var. electrum from California!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of
gun-metal gray hessite in association with native gold var. electrum
on a stark white quartz matrix!!! The hessite is present as numerous rich masses and highly complex crystals as well as
a dense network of veins throughout the matrix!!! The native gold var. electrum is present as masses and coatings on the hessite scattered about the matrix!!! Upon
close examination one can find some tiny areas that appear to host minor, submillimeter areas of
greenish choloalite!!! There also appears to be some tiny areas of possible native silver and possibly some other unidentified species!!!
This specimen retains an old label from Forrest Cureton as well!!!
Simply a fantastic example of this rare species from California!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
