Hessite with Quartz Botes, Alba Co., Romania 2.2cm x 1.8cm x .75cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of this prized silver telluride from this classic Romanian locale!!! This specimen consists of a quartz crystal matrix that hosts a rich showing of grayish metallic hessite in association with a few tiny crystals of sphalerite and some minor chalcopyrite!!! The hessite exhibits a complex and unusual appearance with almost fluid-like rounded forms with a few small areas showing actual, lustrous crystal faces upon close examination!!! This material is quite impressive upon close inspection with a loup or scope!!! This specimen is quite rich, with nearly all the gray-silver material present being hessite!!! These specimens date back to the 19th century and are extremely rare today!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
