Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific, old time exapmle of native silver from this classic Colorado locality!!! This specimen hosts a significant
showing of native silver crystals in association with dark grayish black hessite and darkly colored sphalerite!!! The
native silver is present as well formed crystals that jut out from the calcite matrix!!! The hessite is present as somewhat massive
dark grayish-black material both in close association with the native silver and as masses throughout the specimen!!! The
sphalerite is present as lustrous, darkly colored crystalline material scattered throughout the specimen!!! This specimen is from
the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and Ralph MacKay collection as well!!! This specimen came from a larger single specimen that had broken into several smaller pieces at some point in the century or more since it was
collected, however it will retain a copy of its original label!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must
be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
