Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of hessite from California!!! This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that hosts a rich showing of hessite!!! The great majority of hessite from this locality consists of minute grayish veinlets in quartz, however this specimen hosts a significant showing of crystalline hessite!!! This specimen hosts a significant area of crystalline hessite in addition to numerous other masses and veins of hessite scattered throughout the quartz matrix!!! Upon close inspection one can also see a few tiny submillimeter areas of native gold as well!!! This is a magnificent example of this rare and sought after species from this seldom referenced locality!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
