Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic example of this rare, prized gem species from the namesake locality in North Carolina!!! This specimen
consists of a highly complex, etched crystal of gem hiddenite!!! The crystal is doubly terminated with a complex termination on one end
and a complexly etched termination on the other!!! The crystal has bright glassy luster and gem clarity!!! The crystal is thick and
substantial and could actually yield a significant gemstone!!! The termination is complete and well defined and the specimen has
complex, glassy faces all around!!! The crystal has much better color than the pics show!!! Classic old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection
of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be
some very exciting minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was
originally from the collection of Florence Mecke (acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's)!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
