Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this rare species from Franklin!!! This specimen consists of a significant showing of
crystalline hodgkinsonite surrounded by jet-black franklinite!!! There is some near colorless willemite intergrown
with the hodgkinsonite that shows characteristic yellow green fluorescence under SW UV!!! The hodgkinsonite
exhibits highly complex crystalline features throughout, including some large and impressive cleavage faces as well!!! The hodgkinsonite
exhibits characteristic purplish pink color and has marked translucence!!!
Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see that there are numerous spherical inclusions of an unidentified mineral
in some areas!!! Additionally, there is a tiny vug that hosts a small,
freestanding group of reddish-orange microcrystals of an unidentified species!!! This specimen
is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there
are going to be some very exciting minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY OCTOBER 20th!!!
