Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific, old time example of hubnerite from North Carolina!!! This specimen hosts a complex crystal of dark reddish brown
hubnerite in quartz matrix!!! The crystal exhibits some highly complex faces and has some significant reddish highlights - much more
so than the pictures show!!! The crystal measures nearly 3.4cm and there appears to be some minor tunstite in association as well!!! This specimen is
from the collection of Frank J. Tobey II and retains his detailed label!!! The label notes that this specimen was "a gift of
Lunsford Long, Tungsten Mining Corp., on occassion of Senate hearings on flooding mines - 13 july 1948"!!! A fantastic
example of hubnerite from a seldom referenced locality, with fascinating provenance as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY NOVEMBER 18th!!!
