Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this very rare iron borate from the type locality in Alaska!!! This material
dates to the early 1900's and consists of a network of dark brownish black crystals in matrix!!! The crystals
are actually quite well formed for the species which is often seen simply as massive material!!! This specimen
is quite rich and is a magnificent example of this rare species indeed!!! These specimens came from a very limited, small
time find made around the turn of the 1900's!!! These specimens are extremely rare today!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired
the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting
minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was
originally from the collection of Florence Mecke (acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's)!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY NOVEMBER 29th!!!
