Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of iodargyrite from Broken Hill!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of finely crystallized
iodargyrite!!! This specimen hosts rich areas of translucent straw-yellow to near whitish colorless crystals of iodargyrite across the matrix!!! Much more
material than it first appears in the pictures is iodargyrite, as there is a significant area of somewhat massive iodargyrite that is darkly included and might be
mistaken for matrix!!! There are large, complex crystal faces with marked luster!!! Curiously, there are crystals that have a bluish hue as well (a feature much more
evident in person)!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition with large, complete crystals!!! There is also a fine, gem-clear cerussite crystal in assocation that
hosts a pair of iodargyrite crystals included
within!!! In addition to this unique feature, there are a few razor sharp, gemmy, intense golden yellow crystals
perched on a small area of the iodargyrite crystals - although these crystals are of unknown identity,
these crystals are visually similar to the rare related species miersite (isometric habit)!!! The matrix also hosts numerous tiny spessartine garnet crystals
as is characteristic of this locality!!! All in all, simply a magnificent
example of this rare silver bearign species from Broken Hill!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be
seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 10th!!!
