Iodargyrite with Bromian Chlorargyrite Broken Hill, Yancowinna Co., New South Wales, Australia 1.45cm x 1.26cm x .78cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of this rare silver iodide from Broken Hill!!! This speicmen consists of a complex crystal of iodargyrite in association with a few intergrown crystals of bromian chlorargyrite!!! This specimen is comprised almost entirely of crystalline iodargyrite!!! The iodargyrite has pale yellow color and is slightly translucent throughout!!! The iodargyrite has marked luster and upon close inspection one can see that it is actually quite well crystallized!!! There are a few scattered crystals of bromian chlorargyrite intergrown with the iodargyrite that are sharply defined and have a darker tan-gray color!!! There is a tiny bit of matrix in associaton and the reddish-orange material visible in the pics is actually just some surface staining on some of the iodargyrite crystals (this actually helps show just how crystalline the material is)!!!
