Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of this rare silver iodide from Broken Hill!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of
light yellow, translucent iodargyrite crystals in association with characteristic matrix!!! The
iodargyrite crystals show highly complex forms however the crystalline features are much more apparent in person!!! Additionally,
there is a thin coating of slightly darker colored chlorargyrite present in some recessed areas as well!!!
There is a significant portion of massive iodargyrite intergrown with the matrix as well!!! Upon close inspection one
can find some tiny spessartine garnets embedded in the matrix as well!!! A terrific example of this
rare silver bearing species indeed!!! Classic Broken Hill material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer and retains its original personal collection label!!!
We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer
