Cordierite (Iolite) with Zircon Haddam, Middlesex Co., Connecticut 10.3cm x 3.9cm x 3.56cm Ex. Albert Peppis #A-287

Description/Interesting Notes: A rare old time example of iolite and zircon from Connecticut!!! This specimen consists of a matrix of light blue cordierite that hosts two zircon crystals as well as many submillimeter ones, characterized by the amber-colored polka dots!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the Albert Peppis Collection and retains his original label!!!
