Description/Interesting Notes:
An extraordinary example of rare Iris quartz from India!!! Let me start off by saying that this specimen is ABSOLUTELY
AMAZING IN PERSON and a thousand times better than these pictures show!!! In person these crystals are loaded with razor-sharp,
laser intense zones of brilliant iridescent rainbow color!!! These specimens are VERY rare and this is material of superb
quality!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of highly complex quartz crystals with a slight coating of chalcedony on the
bottom!!! These
incredibly unique and rare quartz crystals host numerous sharp zones within them that exhibit INTENSE, sharply defined
rainbow iridescence!!! The effect is not unlike what you see on the reverse of a CD or DVD - and it is related to a
very similar physical principal as well!!! These quartz crystals owe their unusual raibow iridescence to incredibly
thin, parallel Brazil-law twin planes!!! Very fine examples of Iris quartz such as this are very scarce indeed - this
is one of just three such specimens that I was lucky enough to acquire!!! The pictures don't even come close to capturing
just how much sharp, intense,
rainbow color this specimen shows - in sunlight it is truly astounding!!! A few faceted examples of this material have
fetched prices of over $1k per carat!!! You do not want to miss out on this rare and unusual specimen!!! Please note that these pictures truly do not
even come close to capturing just how unique or dynamic this material is in person!!!
This is a very rare and specific natural phenomena and
should not be confused with anything else (Alfredo Petrov has written a great article on this rare material - if you would like
further info please feel free to contact me)!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 1st!!!
