Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of rare native iron from Greenland!!! Iron, as a native element, is
quite rare because it so readily oxidizes and forms other compounds!!! Most examples of
elemental iron are usually encountered as meteorites, with actual terrestrial examples
of native iron being very scarce indeed!!! This specimen consists of a rich, solid mass of native iron that has been
partially polished on one side in order to show the elemental iron within!!! Rare, old material from Greenland!!!
