Description/Interesting Notes: A classic, old time example of jadeite jade from the type locality!!! This specimen consists of a polished slab (the back is natural) of jadeite jade that exhibits both white and striking emerald green (chromojadeite) color!!! The jadeite has marked translucence in person as well!!! The color is quite handsome indeed!!! This specimen originally came from the famed George Kunz (Kunzite, vice president of Tiffany's, etc.) before it went to Irenee du Pont, Sr. and then to the University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum (history is evidenced by the 314-prefix of the antique catalogue number, these were all the specimens DuPont acquired from Kunz)!!! Classic, OLD time material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
