Jalpaite with Native Silver

La Mesa, Chihuahua, Mexico

3cm x 2.34cm x 1.53cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A rare, old time example of jalpaite from the type locality in Mexico!!! This specimen is comprised almost entirely of jalpaite!!! This specimen is comprised of intergrown, crystalline grains of darkly colored jalpaite in association with a small amount of native silver and chrysocolla!!! Upon close inspection, one can see numerous tiny areas of tin white native silver scattered about the specimen!!! Upon close study with a loupe or scope, one can see that many of the individual crystalline grains of jalpaite were once encapsulated in a thin "skin" of native silver!!! This is rare old time, type locality material that dates to the mid-1800's!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 8th!!!
