Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of jamesonite on quartz from Germany!!! This specimen hosts a striking showing of rainbow-colored iridescent
crystals of jamesonite on a quartz crystal-covered matrix!!! There is an old affixed label that notes the specimen as "Fodorersz" which is
an antiquated German term that was used to describe a variety of "feather ore" mineral species, then goes on to specify jamesonite as if
it were a variety of "fodorersz"!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of fine, hair-like metallic jamesonite crystals partially
covering a matrix lined with tiny quartz points!!! These jamesonite crystals exhibit a very pronounced and aesthetic rainbow
colored iridescence visible on both sides of the specimen!!! This iridescence is VERY prominent and showy in person!!! A very striking
old timer indeed!!! This specimen came from old material that came from the A.E. Seaman Museum - the
material had not been catalogued but was noted as coming from the German mineralogist B. Klose!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 12th!!!
