A rare matrix example of jeremejevite on foitite tourmaline from Namibia!!! Examples of jeremejevite on matrix are quite
scarce indeed!!! This specimen hosts an unusually chunky crystal of GEM jeremejevite prominently perched on a matrix of
compact, fibrous foitite tourmaline (although it is currently labelled as foitite tourmaline, I am told that it is actually
under investigation as a possible new tourmaline species)!!! The jeremejevite crystal has glassy luster and exhibits a highly
complex, etched habit!!! The crystal is complete and undamaged with gem clarity and CHOICE, rich cornflower blue color!!! The
crystal's complex habit, glassy luster, and gem clarity come together to created a specimen with a lively internal "glow"
and play of light within!!! The crystal is actually quite thick and would likely yeild a significant faceted gem as well!!! In addition
to the main crystal, there is also some colorless jeremejevite present embedded in the foitite tourmaline matrix as well!!!
Simply a fantastic example of the species indeed!!! This specimen is in magnificent condition all around and displays
gorgeously in person!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
