A rare matrix example of jeremejevite on foitite tourmaline from Namibia!!! Examples of jeremejevite on matrix are quite
scarce indeed!!! This specimen hosts a pair of gemmy, cornflower blue jeremejevite crystals prominently perched on a
matrix of compact, fibrous foitite tourmaline (although it is currently labelled as foitite tourmaline, I am told that it is
actually under investigation as a possible new tourmaline species)!!! In addition to the two main jeremejevite crystals there are
numerous smaller light blue and colorless jeremejevite crystals present throughout the matrix as well!!!
The jeremejevite crystals have intense, choice cornflower blue color and a curious, highly complex, etched habit!!!
The largest crystal is also embedded in a lightly colored mineral of unknown identity (upon close inspection in person this material can be
seen to be partially crystalline)!!! Upon close inspection, one can see the small individual prismatic
crystals of dark blue green foitite tourmaline!!! Simply a fantastic example of the
species indeed!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition and displays gorgeously in person!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 1st!!!
