Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic combination specimen from this famed California locality!!! This specimen consists of a magnificent example of rare joaquinite in association with
serandite, benitoite, and neptunite!!! The joaquinite is a sharp, pristine crystal prominently perched on matrix!!! The joaquinite crystal has brilliant luster, gemmy clarity, rich
reddish brown color, and measures up to an impressive 3.3mm!!! There
are numerous elongated blades of serandite that range in color from a translucent brownish to a opaque tan-cream color (almost appears to be some kind of
alteration of pseudomorphism?) present in association!!! There is also a single crystal of benitoite along with a couple small
partial benitoite crystals, and a sole neptunite crytal present as well!!! Under UV the tan-cream colored serandite crystals and benitoite crystals fluoresce quite
dramatically!!! Simply a magnificent combination of rare species from this famed California locality!!! There is much more going on with this specimen than the pics show too!!! (Upon close inspection with a
loupe or scope one can see a complex, orange-tan crystal of an unidentified species perched atop a
serandite crystal as well)
The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 2nd!!!
