Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of chlorargyrite and native silver var. kongsbergite from Spain!!! This
specimen consists an arborescent cluster of chlorargyrite crystals (likely a pseudomorph after
native silver var. kongsbergite) on calcite matrix with scattered, sharp crystals of native
silver var. kongsbergite scattered throughout them!!! Kongsbergite is a rare, mercury-rich variety of native silver!!! It is difficult to capture in the pictures, however under
close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see that there are numerous sharp, brilliant metallic crystals
of native silver var. kongsbergite scattered throughout the arborescent chlorargyite crystals (in
many cases the kongsbergite crystals are present at the terminal ends of dendritic chlorarygite crystals)!!! Rare, unique material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
