Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of kyanite from New York City!!! This specimen consists of a matrix of quartz and mica that hosts several crystals of intensely colored kyanite!!! The color is somewhat unusual - being a dark blue with a slight, almost purplish hue!!! The crystals are much better than the pics show!!! A rare find for the locality indeed!!!
