Description/Interesting Notes:
A large and showy example of lazurite from Afghanistan!!! This large specimen hosts a face covered with complex crystals of lazurite in association
with whitish crystals of diopside and golden pyrite!!! The lazurite crystals are present as complex crystals that exhibit a curious
combination of defined euhedral faces and subhedral forms!!! The lazurite crystals have choice, intense royal blue color!!! What makes this specimen somewhat unique is that, rather than just being
in marble, these lazurite crystals are in association with diopside - with a number of the lazurite crystals actually being perched on
diopside crystals (there is one particularly nice cluster of diopside crystals paired with well formed lazurites and pyrite)!!!
Upon close examination, it appears that some of the massive lazurite visible on the sides of
this specimen might even be partially altering to a different species!!! While there is a lot of interesting things
going on with this specimen it is also quite showy and impressive in person!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
