Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific example of rare native lead from Franklin!!! This specimen consists of a matrix of intergrown andradite and rhodonite with several other associated species that host fine, microcrystals of
native lead included within, filling thin cracks, and sparsely scattered across crystal surfaces!!! There are several unidentified species in association and there is a
lot more going on with this specimen than the pictures show!!! The native lead is best appreciated under magnification and more could likely be revealed by trimming
if so desired!!! There are several slightly translucent crystals with a slightly greenish hue that appeared to be crystals of willemite, however
they fluoresce orange, not green (you can see one of these crystals in the third picture below this description on the right)!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Bob Jenkins and retains his original collection label as well!!! The pics
hardly do it justice - must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 19th!!!
