Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely magnificent example of leadhillite from this very rare and historic Missouri locale!!! This specimen hosts a trio of
razor sharp, barrel-like crystals of light blue leadhillite on matrix!!! These historic Granby leadhillite specimens
date back to the 1800's and are extremely rare today!!! The crystals are razor-sharp, complete, and undamaged!!! The
crystals have bright glassy luster, marked translucence, and the sought after light blue color!!! This specimen
retains an old label from the collection of Jacques Bardet (1885-1949) and retains its original label as well (the locality is given as
"Chambry" for Granby)!!! These specimens are very rare and almost impossible to obtain!!! Simply a fantastic example of
this rare and sought after species!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
