A very rare, old time example of leadhillite from the Beer Cellar Mine!!! While leadhillite specimens from ANY locality are usually quite rare, these old
Beer Cellar Mine leadhillites are exponentially so!!! This specimen consists of a curious portion of light gray chert that is acrually suspended
in place by a complex network of leadhillite crystals!!! Yes, everything on this specimen aside from the rectangular "block" of chert is crystalline
leadhillite!!! The main portion of the specimen consists of a dramatic ridge of sharp, hexagonal leadhillite crystals ranging in size
up to 1cm!!! The remainder of the specimen consists of a complex network of lustrous, leadhillite crystals that froze a chunk of massive chert in place!!!
The broad portions of the leadhillite "matrix" are actually comprised of numerous tiny faces that glisten and sparkle at different angles!!! A magnificent
example of leadhillite from this rare old locality!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! These Beer Cellar Mine leadhillites are exceptionally rare and
difficult to obtain!!!
