Description/Interesting Notes:
An outstanding, old time example of legrandite from the type locale in Mexico!!! This specimen consists of a striking showing of
intense yellow legrandite crystals in association with a network of tiny, tan colored smithsonite crystals serving as the matrix!!!
The intergrown legrandite crystals jut out in all directions and show paricularly chunky, robust crystals!!! The crystals
have characteristic intense yellow color with glassy luster and marked translucence!!! This specimen is in magnificent condition - every
crystal is sharply terminated and undamaged!!! The crystals range in size to nearly 1.5cm long and nearly .5cm thick!!! Upon
close inspection with a loupe or scope, one can see that the matrix is actually a network of tiny smithsonite crystals!!! This is a
magnificent specimen indeed!!! These type locale legrandite specimens are quite difficult to acquire!!! Don't miss out on this
rare and prized Mexican classic!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
