A magnificent example of this unusual pseudomorph from Egypt!!! While these specimens are almost always found as black, goethite
pseudomorphs after marcasite - this curious specimen has altered to orange colored limonite instead!!! It is not clear whether or not it changed
from marcasite to limonite or from marcasite to goethite and then to limonite but in either case - it is a fascinating specimen indeed!!! The pics
say it all - and its even better in person!!!
