Description/Interesting Notes:
A superb example of crystalline loellingite from Sterling Hill!!! This specimen consists of a matrix of black willemite, fayalite, and calcite that hosts an
impressive showing of crystalline loellingite in association with a small amount of colorless sphalerite!!! This specimen hosts numerous, sharply formed
crystals of loellingite that measure to over 1.3cm!!! The largest crystal is complete, pristine, and prominently perched as well!!! The loellingite crystals have
brilliant, silver metallic luster and well defined, complex habits!!! This is a killer specimen that is way better than the pictures show!!! In person, the
metallic loellingite is so brilliant and lustrous that it almost jumps right off the matrix (however in the pics they can get confused for the grayish areas of matrix!)!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Gary Grenier and retains his affixed catalog number!!! The specimen exhibits some green fluorescence
under SW UV and the sphalerite exhibits orange fluorescence!!! Simply an amazing example of loellingite from this famed locality!!! This specimen
displays quite handsomely in person as well!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY AUGUST 11th!!!
