A strikingly aesthetic and unique example of malachite included quartz on cuprite from Tsumeb!!! This specimen consists of a solid
mass of cuprite that is coated with brilliantly sparkling druzy quartz crystals that are richly included with malachite!!!
This is very unique material and it is wildly aesthetic in person!!! I have seen this material from Tsumeb only on two other occassions (one
of which is a well known, brocolli-like specimen that had been in the Sussman Collection)!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or
scope one can see that this specimen is completely coated with razor-sharp, gemmy, druzy quartz crystals that have
incorporated the intense green malachite that has coated the underlying cuprite!!! The base of the
specimen shows the underlying cuprite and it also appears that some of it may be altered to tenorite (?) or some other
darkly colored mineral!!! This specimen is simply gorgeous all around and displays magnificently in person!!! Rare and unusual Tsumeb
material!!!
