Malachite pseudomorph after Azurite on Quartz

Morenci Mine, Morenci, Copper Mountain District, Shannon Mts, Greenlee Co., Arizona

8.05cm x 6.9cm x 4.54cm

Ex. A. E. Foote

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic, old time example of malachite and quartz from Morenci!!! This specimen consists of a matrix covered with sparkling, mint green quartz crystals that hosts a complex group of intergrown malachite pseudomorphs!!! The quartz crystals have a lovely mint green color in person that is really quite aesthetic!!! The malachite pseudomorphs are somewhat curious in habit and are atypical of azurite pseudomorphs from the locality!!! The malachite crystals are unusually well formed - upon close examination the individual crystals can be seen to be razor sharp and gemmy!!! This old time specimen retains an old label from A.E. Foote!!! This is a very unique old timer indeed - way better than the pics show!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
