Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely extraordinary example of malachite from the Congo!!! Let me start off by saying that this specimen is INCREDIBLE in person - these
pics do not come close to capturing just how showy and impressive this amazing specimen is in person!!! The overwhelming majority of
malachite crystals are seen as botryoidal material, pseudomorphs, massive material, or microcrystals - with
crystals of true, primary malachite being quite scarce in comparison!!! That being said, the majority of primary malachite crystals
seldom reach over 1cm in size... however this specimen hosts an extraordinary GIANT crystal of primary malachite that measures over 7cm!!!
This specimen hosts an amazing 7+cm primary malachite crystal with another large, interpenetrant primary malachite crystal aesthetically
perched on a colorful matrix of intense, turquoise blue shattuckite!!! There is also a small, lone cuprite crystal perched on
the malachite as well!!! The malachite has deep, emerald green color with electric green highlights on the very edge of
all the sharp details!!! The malachite crystals have brilliant, glassy luster and marked clarity in areas as well!!!
The malachite crystals are complete and undamaged!!! Although it might be tough to tell in the pics,
the the outer corner of the crystals has a natural, concave feature that was
the result of contact with botryoidal shattuckite - this is a natural feature and this is readily apparent in person!!!
This specimen is truly an extraordinary example of the species and this specimen is VERY impressive in person!!! You
simply DO NOT SEE primary malachite crystals of this size and magnitude - let alone in such fine quality and aesthetic
presentation!!! Simply stunning in person!!! You do not want to miss out on this rare opportunity!!!
