Malachite pseudomorph after Azurite with Quartz Tsumeb, Namibia 9.27cm x 5.38cm x 4.16cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific, old time example of malachite after azurite from Tsumeb!!! This specimen consists of a very large azurite crystal that has been completely replaced by malachite and subsequently coated with microcrystalline quartz!!! There are areas where there are voids under the sheet of quartz crystals and they appear white, otherwise they are difficult to discern in the photos!!! the malachite crystals are unusually well crystallized in areas and are quite striking!!! There are also areas of other species that are coated with quartz as well!!! The reverse of the specimen shows a light green mix of massive species!!! This is old, first oxidation zone material!!!
