Description/Interesting Notes: An unusual, old time example of malachite from Russia!!! This specimen consists of a highly lustrous group of botryoidal malachite crystals in association with some small, partially altered crystals of magnetite on a matrix of somewhat fibrous pyrophyllite!!! The malachite has a lively green color and marked luster!!! Upon close examination, the magnetite crystals can be seen to have a cubo-octahedral habit!!! The pyrophyllite exhibits some radiating groups of crystals throughout as well!!! A very interesting and attractive Russian malachite indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
