Description/Interesting Notes: A superb example of malachite from Butte!!! While Butte was an extraordinarily prolific locality and rich copper deposit, good specimens of malachite are very scarce indeed!!! This old time specimen consists of a fantastic grouping of intergrown groups of parallel crystals!!! The crystals are very well formed, sharp, and lustrous!!! This is an amazing example of the species from Butte!!! This specimen retains an old, unattributed label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
