Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of malachite from Bisbee!!! This specimen consists of a broad, showy plate of finely bladed malachite crystals in
association with a partial coating of calcite crystals!!! This specimen is quite unique for a number of reasons!!! The
malachite crystals appear to be pseudomorphs after azurite crystals!!! Many of the crystals are
quite thin, and some of the crystals are so thin that they actually show significant clarity!!! There are also a few areas
where more characteristic botryoidal malachite can be seen through the crystals!!! There is a significant area of of malachite
crystals that has an attractive, snowy white coating of crystalline calcite!!! Upon close inspection, one can see that areas of the
calcite is slightly translucent and lustrous!!! This specimen is from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and came from the John Gerry Collection!!! This specimen
retains an affixed Seaman Museum catalogue number as well!!! Unique, old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 22nd!!!
