Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of malachite from the Urals!!! These old time examples of Russian malachite date to the 19th century or earlier and are seldom seen on the market today!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of deep green crystals of PRIMARY malachite in association with some massive cuprite on a limonitic matrix!!! What is so incredible about this specimen is the fact that these crystals are not pseudomorphic, but are actually primary malachite crystals!!! The crystals have an unusual habit and, upon close inspection can be seen to have broad, gemmy portions!!! In person this specimen is simply incredible!!! The pictures do not even come close to capturing just how significant it is!!! This specimen retains its original Cilen collection label as well!!!
