Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of malachite from this seldom represented Nevada locale!!! This specimen consists of a vuggy matrix that
hosts numerous sprays of lively green malachite crystals!!! The crystals are present as intergrown sprays of crystals and
club-shaped groups of fibrous crystals!!! Although the matrix may look like friable limonitic matrix in the pics, it is
actually comprised of rigid, complexly altered quartz that just shows significant iron staining!!! This is rare, old time
material from the Yerrington Copper King Mine and dates to at least 1906 (when Koenig acquired it from Burrall)!!! This specimen
is from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and retains a museum label with G.A. Koenig Collection notation!!! The specimen
also retains an old Koenig label with Fred Burrall notation dated 1906!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 7th!!!
