Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique example of malachite after azurite from Bisbee!!! This specimen consists of a group of elongated, slightly divergent
crystals of azurite that have been completely replaced by lively green malachite, prominently perched on a small amount of matrix and
subsequently coated with a layer of minute, gem clear, quartz crystals!!! In addition to the malachite pseudomorphs, there are a
couple partial botryoids of dense, gem-grade malachite near the base of the specimen!!! The crystals are terminated and
undamaged!!! This specimen has particularly bright and intense green color, due in part to the fact that the
malachite has a pronounced velveteen chatoyance!!! Quartz coated specimens such as this are uncommon from Bisbee!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JULY 19th!!!
