Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of malachite and cuprite from this historic locale!!! This specimen consists of a striking cluster of
very well crystallized primary malachite in rich association with handsome red cuprite!!! The malachite shows
remarkable chatoyance and gorgeous emerald green color!!! There are showy sprays and lathes of prismatic malachite crystals
scattered all over as well as some vugs of malachite crystal groups!!! The cuprite is present both as massive
material and complexly crystalline groups and clusters!!! The cuprite crystals are much more significant than the pics show!!!
The malachite is truly remarkable and unique compared to any other locality!!! This old time material likely dates to the 19th century!!! This
specimen is from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum
and retains an old Michigan College of Mines label as well as an older unattributed label and its
original, antique glass-lined specimen box!!! Simply gorgeous old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
