Malachite pseudomorph after Cuprite Chessy-les-Mines, Rhone, Rhone-Alpes, France 1cm x .76cm x .71cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A classic, old time example of malachite after cuprite from this historic French locality!!! This specimen consists of a sharp, complexly modified crystal of cuprite that has been completely replaced by malachite!!! The crystal has sharp faces and, upon close inspection, exhibits some complex and curious features!!! One can actually see the fibrous nature of the pseudomorphic malachite crystals "frozen" within the original cuprite crystal's structure!!! Additionally, there is a significant area of blue azurite present as well!!! The azurite also conforms to the original cuprite crystal's structure!!! This specimen is from the A.E.
